Some kind words from a few of my amazing clients over the years…

I started doing pilates with Chantal about 5 years ago after yet another spell of debilitating problems with my lower back.  In short, she has turned my life around.  For years I had to be careful about what I did, bending and lifting were always difficult and gardening was always a challenge for which I knew I would pay dearly for several days afterwards.  

Since starting pilates I am so much stronger and more flexible, in fact I am generally known as the fit and strong one in the small community where I live.  I think nothing of picking up heavy sacks, large dogs, bending, stretching, climbing ladders etc. (Not bad for and ‘older lady’!)  I know my own body so much better than I ever have, and will be eternally grateful to Chantal for giving me my active life back.  Oh and I enjoy every single class I do with her too.

When I first decided to have personal training sessions with Chantal, it was for the sole purpose of losing weight, at that time I thought that was the only reason anyone would exercise. And sure enough, I lost weight and started to change shape. It certainly wasn’t easy at the start and there were ups and downs along the way but Chantal seemed to always know when I needed a kick up the butt or a gentle nudge in the right direction. She goes above and beyond for her clients and takes the time to get to know each one, to know what their needs are. The sessions are engaging, challenging and fun! Chants made me see the importance of fitness for a healthy body but more importantly for a healthy mind. Now I couldn’t imagine my life without exercise because I enjoy it and know it will make me feel good, I have Chantal to thank for that! I feel so lucky to have had the experience and can’t wait to continue improving my fitness with Chants!

Chantal has helped to bring flexibility and mobility back into my ageing body thus reducing the onset of stiff joints, poor muscle tone and slouching posture. I feel rejuvenated and have more energy and strength to, once again, enjoy my active lifestyle. I have participated in her Pilates and Circuit Training classes for about 9 months and have found her Zoom classes, during lockdown, a real life saver! Chantal’s classes are never boring as she works hard to vary the routines; is always observant and cheerful with a positive outlook and is sympathetic and helpful towards any ailments her clients may have; suggesting ways of overcoming the problem.

What I love about Chantal is that she promotes a well balanced life style and seems quite ‘normal’. It was so refreshing when a bag of chocolate buttons fell out of her pocket in the middle of a spin class! At the age of 45 I had never been to a gym but I took the plunge and started a PT session with Chantal. 

She’s been the perfect tutor for me, supportive, kind and knows what’s right for you and your needs. 

My fitness levels have improved and from not being able to go on a cross trainer for more than 2 minutes at the start, I can lift weights, last a lot longer than two minutes and actually enjoy it for my health and well-being. 

I also do Pilates which I love especially as Chantal explains everything so well.

When I started working with Chantal, I had tried many forms of exercise but not stuck to any of them, mainly due to getting bored or losing motivation. I had never stepped foot in a gym, as a woman I found it too intimidating but thought I would give the ‘Fit Mums’ group a go. With guidance from Chantal I soon noticed a difference. My body shape changed which was great but my mindset had shifted completely. I was more focussed on being strong than losing weight, my confidence grew and I learnt to think about food in a different way.

Now 3 years on I am still working with Chants, she is great at supporting and encouraging me when I feel I can’t do something or motivation is thin on the ground. She is also great at teaching, motivating and pushing me to reach goals I would never reach on my own. I now enjoy the gym, which I never expected!

I would highly recommend Chantal to anyone thinking about starting PT or one of her group sessions or to anyone who wants to be fitter but has no idea where to start. She is highly skilled and very knowledgeable but also just a lovely person!

When I first contacted Chantal I told her my main focus was to help my mental health and get into a better headspace. From the first day I met her she was so easy to talk to, and I didn’t feel embarrassed about sharing my problems and struggles. Being able to talk to her made our PT sessions a lot more valuable to me, if I turned up having a bad day she’d understand but she’s also push me enough that I would always leave feeling a million times better than when I arrived. 

She’s a ray of sunshine, and she’s so positive and motivating without being overbearing that I look forward to classes and sessions with her. She’s even motivated me to do 2 x 10 miler events and 2 half marathons ! 

To sum up - she’s wonderful. She’s one of the kindest, most caring people I’ve ever met who genuinely wants to help people achieve their goals and look after their fitness and health; both physical and mental. She’s helped me SO much and I can’t recommend her enough.
